According to Department Order No. 9, s. 2015 issued by Secretary of Education Armin Luistro, the official school year begins on June 1, 2015 and ends April 1, 2016.

QSHS, kaisa sa paggunita ng Buwan ng Wika 2014

Gaya ng sa mga nagdaang taon ay muling ipagdiriwang ang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa ngayong darating na Agosto.

Ang selebrasyon ngayong taon ay may temang “Wika ng Pagkakaisa.” Ito ay pangungunahan ng Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF).

Ang “Buwan ng Wika” ay ipinagdiriwang taon-taon bilang pagtalima sa Pampanguluhang Proklamasyon 1041 na nilagdaan ni Pangulong Fidel V. Ramos noong Hulyo 1997.

Ipinagdiriwang ang “Buwan ng Wika” sa pamamagitan ng pagsasagawa ng iba’t ibang aktibidad ukol rito sa mga paaralan sa buong bansa.

QSHS welcomes the new batch of students

DepEd formally opened the classes last June 2, 2014 as part of their ‘Oplan Balik Eskwela’ campaign.

Quezon Science High School warmly welcomed the ‘4th batch’ of students consist of 79 students from different parts of Quezon Province.

This was happened during the first flag ceremony of the school year headed by Mrs. Carmela Ezcel A. Orogo, EPS I (Sci. Sec.), OIC-Director, Quezon Science High School.

As part of QSHS tradition, each and every student must introduce their selves by stating their name, age and from what town they come from.

After the introduction, all student are group according to what section they belong to and went to their respective classrooms.

Quezon Science High School’s population boosted up from 220 students last academic year to 290 students this year.

DepED imposes the 2014-2015 academic calendar

Last 28th of March, 2014, DepEd has officially publicized the new academic calendar for S.Y 2014 2015. DepEd Order No. 18, series of 2014, the classes must be started on June 2, 2014, Monday and the last day will be on Friday,  March 27, 2015. 

“The School Calendar for School Year (SY) 2014-2015 reflects the school events and activities for the said SY. The core events and activities shall represent the actual teaching-learning days and shall be strictly observed in all schools”, DepEd has stated in the memo. 

“SY will consist of 201 school days” inclusive of the five-day In-Service Training (INSET) break and the parent-teacher conferences. Also released in the said calendar are the different school events and activities—including the number of school days per quarter.” DepEd Secretary Luistro said.

In addtion, DepEd did say also that Christmas break for SY 2014-2015 shall begin on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Classes will resume on Monday, January 5, 2014.

Lastly, in preparation for the opening of classes for SY 2015-2016, the schools must conduct the following activities: Early registration on Saturday, January 24th , 2015 and Brigada Eskwela from May 18th-23rd, 2015.

Basura Mo, Katapat ay Regalo, Inilunsad ng SSG

Inilunsad ng Supreme Student Government (SSG) taong panuruan 2013-2014 ang “Basura Mo, Katapat ay Regalo” para maka-ipon ng pondo mula sa pagreresiklo ng mga bagay na patapon.

 

Sinimulan ito noong unang lingo ng Setyembre  ng mga mag-aaral ng Quezon Science High School (QSHS) sa pangunguna ng presidente ng SSG na si Samuel Joshua Cruz.

 

Isinagawa ang proyekto upang mabawasan ang mga basura sa pamamagitan ng pagreresiklo para sa ika-lilinis at ikagaganda ng nasabing eskwelahan.

 

“This project may be entitled the ‘staple project’ of all SSGs for it gives solution to one of the problems of the school, which is litter just like scratch papers, bottles,cardboard boxes, and the like.” ayon kay Cruz.

 

Nangongolekta ng mga papel, karton, bote at iba pang bagay na pwedeng iresiklo ang mga estudyante bawat seksyon at kokolektahin naman ito ng mga miyembro ng SSG tuwing biyernes upang ipagbenta sa junkshop.

 

“In addition, this project may also serve as an income generating project for the school and the SSG… So, all in all, this project really is useful and we, the SSG of QSHS, hope that everything will turn out well.” dagdag pa ni Cruz.

 

Inaanunsyo ang pangkat na may pinaka maraming nabenteng basura at bibinigyan sila ng munting regalo mula sa kabuuang perang pinagbentahan.

 

Gagamitin din  sa mga darating pang mga  programa ng nasabing paaralan ang malilikom na pera ng SSG mula sa proyektong ito.
